There are a lot of ways to improve reading skills , some of them
are:
1- training students for expressive reading , that they use body language and face and eyes signs on it. So there is a high importance for the ideal reading from the teacher to enable the student to make like him.
2- Giving concern to the silent reading as the student can`t do well only if he understand the text very well , so the student should start with understanding the total meaning of the text and discuss it with the teacher and then start reading.
3- Training students for he right reading from all sides.
4- Using the new words in many ways such as : put new words in sentence say the meaning of the words, say the opposite of it , and all of these ways must be done by the student not the teacher, and there is another way to use new words which is giving real example of the word like door so the teacher point to the door – book etc…, and this way the teacher do it.
5- Encourage student to read in front of people without being afraid or shy , So it is very important to encourage the student to read in front of his colleagues also train student how to stand well and hold the book in a right way , and it is prohibited that the student read while he is sitting .
6- training student to read with a suitable speed and in a suitable voice.
7- training the student to understand the text and to arrange the ideas during reading .
8- training the student to read sentence by sentence not word by word , also where they can stop while reading.
9- training the student to aesthetic taste of the text and an artistic sense and emotion emotional expressions and meanings wonderful.
10- enable students from the ability to focus and quality summary of the subject which he reads.
11- encourage the good students in reading in different ways.
12- instill the love of reading in the hearts of students and encourage them to read in different fields.
13- training students to use dictionaries.
14-Training students to translate punctuation marks to feeling and emotions not only in voice but also in facial expressions .
15-Teacher should make extension for the lesson in home (home reading).
16- Teacher should give concern to the weak students in reading and be patient with them and encourage who become better from them , and if someone make mistake teacher can correct it with one of these ways:
1- let the student continue the first reading without correct the mistakes as long as the meaning is right .
2- After the student finis the sentence ask him to repeat it again after telling him about his mistake.
3- Teacher can ask one of the student to correct his colleague mistake.
4- Student may be make mistake in reading a word because he don`t know its meaning , So the teacher should discuss it with him.
5- Some of the specialist said that if the mistake of the student was simple special if this student is good , So the teacher can ignore this mistake.
